HOPKINTON, N.H. – Returning to the track, the University of New Haven Women's Cross Country team traveled north to New Hampshire to compete at the Bruce Kirsch Cross Country Cup where New Haven was one of 15 teams competing at the meet.
April Mauceri (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) continued her dominant season for the blue and gold as she led the way for the Chargers and set the tone early finishing 11 overall in the field, third amongst Division II runners, as Mauceri crossed in 22:53.6.
Finishing second for the Chargers, Elsie Kaas (Elverson, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) finished 49 overall crossing in 25:23.8. Violet Coyle (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay) finished third overall for the Chargers and 52 overall coming across the finish line in 25:47.2.
Ennna Pollock in her first race, finished third for New Haven and 17 overall in her collegiate debut crossing with a time of 12:34.3.
Emma Pollock (Slate Hill, N.Y./Minisink Valley) finished fourth for the Chargers and 58 overall in the meet crossing with a final time of 26:20.9. Rounding out the Chargers top five was Kaitlyn Rollo (Lakewood, Calif./Robert A. Millikan) who finished 70 overall and crossed with a final time of 27:02.1.
Overall New Haven finished 8 lof the 15 teams competing at the meet and fourth amongst the Division II teams competing.
The Chargers now completing the regular season return to work when they travel back to New Hampshire to compete at the the NE10 Conference championships once again at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds where New Haven will compete for a conference crown. The Championships will be on Sunday October 27 at the Hopkinton State Fair Grounds with the race beginning at 11:00 AM.
