FULL NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Following his last minute goal on Saturday under the lights of Zolad Stadium, freshman midfielder David Huang (China/Nobel British International School) snagged his second Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week honors as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Huang's second goal of the season came with just 90 seconds remaining against the Bentley Falcons and earned his squad three points in the league standings and the fifth shutout of the season for graduate goalie Archie Watts (Bristol, England/SGS College).
With a midfield defensive takeaway, the Chargers pushed forward fast to score the long goal of the night. The outlet pass went across the pitch to the near side where Porqueras collected and dribbled forward to just outside the 18-yard box. Porqueras drilled a cross to opposite side of the eight-yard box where Huang used a one-timer to beat the keeper to the opposite corner of the net.
Huang and the Chargers will stay at home for their next game, with a visit from the American International Yellow Jackets next on the docket on Tuesday, October 8. Opening kickoff in the Northeast-10 Conference game is set for 7:00 p.m. at Kathy Zolad Stadium.
