ROCHESTER, New York. – After strong finishes at the Conference Championships, the University of New Haven Men's Cross Country team returned to the course, as they traveled to Rochester, New York for the NCAA Division II East Region Championship at the Matt St. James Cross Country Trails
Mohammed Abunar (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) continued to set the pace for New Haven as Abunar finished eighth overall with a final time of 31:53.6 and earned eight points for New Haven and earned himself All-Region Honors.
Finishing second for the Chargers, Liam Taggart (Wakefiled, Mass./Wakefield Memorial) finished 62 overall crossing in 33:54.5. William Brown (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) finished third overall for the Chargers and 77 overall coming across the finish line in 34:32.2.
Noah Hurd (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip Regional) finished 78 overall and fourth for the Chargers with a final time of 34:32.4.
James Comisky (Milford, Mass./Milford) who finished 79 overall and crossed with a final time of 34:35.3 finished fifth overall for New Haven.
Overall the Chargers finished 13 of the 18 teams competing in the Championship.
