BOSTON, Mass. – In one of their final meets ahead of the conference championships, the University of New Haven Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Meet hosted by Boston University. A week out of the NE10 Championships, the Chargers looked to improve their seeding with their final meet.
In the Men's Triple Jump, Jackson Marescot (Spring Valley, N.Y./Ramapo) moved himself into second place in the conference with a jump of 13.79m.
Christopher Gregory ran a season best in the Men's 400m dash running a 49.79 moving him to sixth in the conference.
Lastly, Jimmy Oreste (Jamaica, N.Y.) threw a season-best in the weight throw moving him to fourth in the conference with a mark of 16.07m.
On the women's side, the 4x400m relay team of Niquelle Johnson (Trumbull, Conn./Northeastern Academy), Deja Harris, Micaela Owen (New Haven, Conn./Wilbur Cross), and Kalaya Fitch (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) ran a season-best of 4:06.74 placing them third in the conference.
With one meet to go and conference two weeks away the blue and gold make their final preparations looking for a dominant finish in the Conference. The Chargers return to the track for their final meet before the NE10s on Friday, February 9, competing at the Fastrack National Invitational held at Ocean Breeze Park, in Staten Island New York.
