CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – New Haven Track and Field took part in the Harvard Invitational on Friday and Saturday afternoon, where New Haven had several top-10 finishes and other strong performances.
On the women's side, New Haven's
D'Jior Delisser (/) finished 2
nd overall in the high jump, with a mark of 1.63m. She also placed sixth overall in the long jump invite, with a mark of 5.55m. New Haven also placed two athletes inside the top 10 for the 500m with
Rayniah Mercedat (/) finishing eighth overall, with a time of 1:20.68, and
Piper Lopashanski (Albany, N.H./Kennett) finishing ninth overall, with a time of 1:22.26.
Jada Kamtha (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls) placed seventh overall in the 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.66. New Haven placed ninth overall in the 4x440 yard relay as well.
On the men's side,
Nathaniel Massingale (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior High School) placed fifth overall in the 500m dash, with a time of 1:06.17. Nathaniel Peters placed eighth overall in the 500m dash, with a time of 1:06.74.
Thomas Conklin (Wallingford, Conn./Lyman Hall) placed sixth in the 800m, with a time of 1:58.03.
Elijah Espinal (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) placed fourth in the 100m, with a time of 2:39.20.
Mohammed Abunar (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) placed fifth in the 5000m, with a time of 15:40.72.
Luis Calderon (/) came in sixth in the triple jump open, with a mark 12.94m.
Matthew Steele (North Kingstown, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) placed fourth in the triple jump invite, with a mark of 14.38m. Alan white placed fifth overall in the shot put open, with a mark of 14.65m.
Jimmy Oreste (Jamaica, N.Y./) placed second in the weight throw invite, with a mark of 18.72m.
Richard Fortune (/) placed third overall in the weight throw open, with a mark of 15.41m.
Cole Parker (Severn, Md.) finished sixth overall in the heptathlon.
The Chargers are back on the road to Staten Island on Friday, February 6
th, to compete at the Fastrack National Invitational.
