WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Track split the program over the weekend, with part of it heading to the Big Apple for the Dr. Sander Scorcher, hosted by Columbia University. The other half was more local, competing in the Wesleyan Invitational.
At Wesleyan, the men raked in the podium finishes. To begin the day, Nathaniel Peters earned third place in the men's 400m.
Kittikhom Tighe (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) won the men's 800m.
Joshua Udeh (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) was the runner-up in the men's high jump.
Declan McGrellis (Frederica, Md./Frederica) continued his streak of strong performances, earning third place in the men's pole vault.
Daniel Enrico (Milford, Conn./Foran) also earned third in the men's long jump.
Alan White (Hillside, N.J./Hillside), who has been learning shot put for no more than a few months, won his event.
Jimmy Oreste (Jamaica, N.Y./) also won the weight throw competition.
On the women's side at Wesleyan,
Madeline Klecha (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) highlighted the day with first-place finishes in the 200m and the women's high jump.
Alicia Brown (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) and
Molly Clark (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) took home the top two spots in women's pole vault, in that order.
Micaela Owen (New Haven, Conn./Wilbur Cross) (women's 400m) and
Violet Coyle (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay) (800m) each placed third in their events.
In New York,
Amir Phelmetto (/) placed fifth in the men's 400m dash. The 4x400m relay, consisting of
Nathaniel Massingale (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior High School),
Kaidyn Nalley (Stratford, Conn./Bunnell),
Christopher Gregory (/), and Phelmetto placed fourth overall.
Gabrielle Teel (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) earned fourth place in triple jump.
