BOSTON, Mass. – Coming off their strong performance at the conference championships, the University of New Haven Men's and Women's Track teams returned to the Track at New Balance this time to compete against the best of New England, in the New England Championships.
Nathaniel Peters (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) finished fifth overall and earned All-New England in the 500m crossing with a time of 1:05.28.
Jada Kamtha (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls) earned All-New England accolades in the women's long jump. After opening with a mark of 5.44m the freshman fouled her second jump before her fourth jump where she jumped 5.50m climbing herself into third overall.
Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) finished second overall in the 60m hurdles picking up All New England accolades crossing in 8.08.
The 4x400m relay team of Christopher Gregory, Nile Colson (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas Institute), Nathaniel Peters (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton), and Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) all earned accolades as the team finished fourth overall crossing in 3:20.52.
A pair of Chargers earned All-New England accolades in the triple jump as Matthew Steele (North Kingstown, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) finished fourth overall jumping 14.12m ahead of teammate Jackson Marescot (Spring Valley, N.Y./Ramapo) who finished fifth overall jumping 14.11m earning each the accolades.
On the women's side, Savannah Sistrunk (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Academy of Arts & Sciences) earned All-New England accolades in the 60m dash where she crossed in 7.95 to earn the award.
Gabrielle Teel (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) finished second overall in the triple jump to earn All New England accolades jumping 11.61m in the event.
