NEW ORLEANS, La. – Following a spring season that included three Northeast-10 Conference Championships and a pair of New England titles, four University of New Haven men's track and field student-athletes added another honor to their resume with Outdoor All-Region recognition from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Three of the four awards came in field events with the twin brother pair of Jackson Marescot (Spring Valley, N.Y./Ramapo) and Jacky Marescot (Spring Valley, N.Y./Ramapo) each earning the distinction in the long jump and Cole Parker (Severn, Md./Annapolis Area Christian School) taking the honor in the high jump.
In the long jump, the Marescot brothers were part of a podium sweep for the Chargers at the NE10 Championship with Jacky Marescot (Spring Valley, N.Y./Ramapo) taking the title honors at both the league championship and the New England Championship. Jacky wrapped up the season with a personal best in the long jump with a distance of 7.19 meters (23'7.25"). His brother Jackson Marescot (Spring Valley, N.Y./Ramapo) also saw his personal best come during the spring season with his best leap of 7.09 meters (23'3.25") coming at the James Barber Invitational.
Parker earned a pair of titles in the high jump during the spring season coming in back-to-back meets at the James Barber Invitational and followed that up with the NE10 title at the league championships. He closed out the spring with a season-best in the high jump when he was successful at a height of 1.98 meters (6'6").
Rounding out the honors for the men's team was senior Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) in the 110 meter hurdles where he took titlist honors in a pair of meets during the spring season, the Jack Maloney Invitational and the Ramapo College Track & Field Invitational. His best time of the spring came at the NE10 Championships where he posted a 14.12 for the fastest time in the preliminary rounds before suffering an injury in the finals.
The men's track & field team wrapped up a 10-meet spring schedule with a pair of top-10 finishes during the championship season, including a third place finish at the NE10 Championships followed by finishing 8th of 26 teams at the New England Championships.
