CONCORD, Conn. – The University of New Haven Men's Golf team returned to the course competing at the Granite State Opener held at Beaver Meadow Golf Course. A 6,364-yard Par 72 course in Concord, New Hampshire hosted the 13-team three-day event that saw competition open up on Sunday and conclude on Tuesday.

Alex Mitrovich led the way for the Chargers finishing tied for 29th starting the tournament strong with an opening round +1 (73). He would follow that up with a second round +3 (75) before carding a final round +5 (77) to finish the tournament +9 (225) overall.

Hermann Gavilan (Valencia, Spain) finished tied for 54th as he carded an opening round +5 (77), second round +1 (73), and final round +10 (82) to finish the tournament +16(232).

Frank Ferru Jr. finished tied for 59th as he carded an opening round +12 (84), second round +5 (77), before closing the tournament out by carding a final round E (72) to finish the tournament +17(233).

Jaime Hernandez finished tied for 65th as he carded an opening round +14 (86), second round -1 (71), and final round +11 (83), to finish the tournament +24(240).

Bautista Salgueiro finished tied for 72nd as he carded an opening round +10 (82), second round +9 (81), and final round +14 (86) for a combined +33(249).

Overall the Chargers finished 13th shooting a combined +62 (926) as they shot +28 (316) in the opening round, +8 (296) in the second round, and then shot +26 (314) in the final round.

The Chargers will have a short turnaround as they return to the Nutmeg State and travel to Bloomfield, Connecticut for the Hartford Hawk Invitational on Saturday, September 21 and the final round on Sunday, September 22. The Invitational is being held at Gillette Ridge Golf Club, an Arnold Palmer Signature Course. All updates, schedules, and post-round recaps for the team will be available at Newhavenchargers.com.
