FULL NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – University of New Haven Men's Track and field team has called the sand pit their second home all season, and with that took home a weekly awards as announced by the Northeast10.
Matthew Steele (North Kingstown, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) was named the conference Field Athlete of the Week, following his performance at the Dr. Sander Scorcher Invitational Meet hosted by Columbia. Steele, competing against the top talent in the invitational section, finished sixth overall in the men's triple jump invitational with his best mark coming on his second jump, 13.92m.
Compared to the start of the month jumping right into double meets, the University of New Haven Men's and Women's Track and Field will close out the month and open February up with a single meet, as they travel to Cambridge, Massachusetts to compete at the Harvard Invitational. The meet kicks off on Friday, January 31, before concluding on Saturday February 1. All updates, post meet recaps, and postseason news for the team will be available at Newhavenchargers.com.
