New Haven Baseball Announces Schedule for 2026

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Baseball Head Coach Chris Celano announced his team's 2026 schedule on Thursday afternoon. In New Haven's first year in the NEC, the Blue & Gold will play a total of 50 games, featuring opponents from across the country.

Beginning the campaign, New Haven will travel down to Florida for a three-game, neutral-site series with the Missouri Tigers. The season will officially begin on Friday, Feb. 20, as New Haven and Missouri will break out the bats for the first time all spring.

Following the opening series, the Chargers will head to Fort Worth, Texas, visiting the TCU Horned Frogs for a three-game slate. TCU has made the College World Series six times since 2010, most recently in 2023. Game one of that series will get underway on Friday, Feb. 27.

New Haven will then return north, traveling to Storrs for a matchup with the UConn Huskies on Tuesday, Mar. 3. Later that week, it will open NEC play as the club travels to Stonehill for a three-game weekend series, beginning on Friday, Mar. 6. New Haven ends its season-opening 10-game road trip with a drive to Kingston, R.I. on Tuesday, Mar. 10, as it will match up against the University of Rhode Island.

Frank Vieira Field will see its first action of the 2026 College Baseball season on Friday, Mar. 13, as the Le Moyne College Dolphins will make their first trip to the 203. New Haven and Le Moyne will make history as that series will be the first in NEC history to be played at Frank Vieira Field. First pitch for Friday's game is set for 3:00 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday are both slated to get underway at 1:00 p.m.

The Blue & Gold will hit the road again for its next five games, featuring one at Hofstra University on Tuesday, Mar. 17, three NEC games beginning on Friday, Mar. 20 at FDU and ending on Sunday, Mar. 22, and another Tuesday game, on Mar. 24, at Sacred Heart University.

Four home games are next on the schedule for New Haven, as it will welcome the Wagner College Seahawks for a three-game series, beginning on Friday, Mar. 27. Friday's game will get underway at 3:00 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday will begin at 1:00 p.m. After the conclusion of that series and a day off, the Blue & Gold will host the Stony Brook University Seawolves on Tuesday, Mar. 31. First pitch of Tuesday's game will arrive at 3:00 p.m.

April begins with a three-game series at Mercyhurst on Friday, Apr. 3. The series marks the first time the Blue & Gold will play in Pennsylvania since March 9, 2008, when New Haven lost to West Chester University. One game at Yale University will follow, on Wednesday, Apr. 8, ending the four-game road swing.

LIU comes to town on Friday, Apr. 10, beginning a three-game NEC series at 3:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday's games will begin at 1:00 p.m. versus the Sharks. Bridgeport University will return to Frank Vieira Field on Wednesday, Apr. 15, for a 3:00 p.m. ballgame.

A three-game series at Norfolk State University will run from Friday, Apr. 17 to Sunday, Apr. 19, continuing NEC play. A home game on Tuesday, Apr. 21 against Quinnipiac University will precede another NEC series on the road. This time, New Haven will visit in-state rival, CCSU, for three games, beginning on Friday, Apr. 24. The month ends with the University of Rhode Island visiting West Haven on Tuesday, Apr. 28, with the game's first pitching coming at 3:00 p.m.

New Haven begins May by heading to Coppin State University, closing out its NEC road schedule. Game one of the series is scheduled for Friday, May 1.

The Blue & Gold will see Hofstra University again on Wednesday, May 6, this time the Pride will come to Frank Vieira Field. New Haven then stays home for a three-game series with Delaware State University on Friday, May 9, with first pitch coming at 3:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday's games will get underway at 1:00 p.m.

The Chargers will head to Fairfield on Tuesday, May 12, to wrap up the road slate against the Stags of Fairfield University. New Haven holds a 22-7 record all-time against the Stags. The last matchup between the schools came back on Apr. 23, 1983, a 6-1 win for the Chargers.

The 2026 campaign will come to a close with a three-game NEC series against University of Maryland Eastern Shore, beginning on Friday, May 15. First pitch of that game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday are both slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
