BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – The NEC announced its Weekly Award winners on Tuesday afternoon. On the men's side, Jhelani Anderson (Bronx, N.Y./DeWitt Clinton) took home both Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Men's Rookie of the Week. Jada Kamtha (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls) was named the NEC Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row.
Anderson's time of 6.79s in the 60m dash not only took home the top spot in the event, but also set a New Haven program record.
Kamtha finished in sixth place with an 8.63s time in the women's 60m hurdles. Her relay also placed eighth at the Seahawk Shootout in the 4x200m, finishing in 1:44.84s.
