NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven Men's and Women's Track and Field teams continue their impressive performances in the indoor season at the Yale Giegengack Invitational this weekend.
In Men's Shot Put,
Jonah Aguiar (/) and
Richard Fortune (/) both had exceptional performances, taking home the first and second place spots. Aguiar, a standout in the event, dominated the competition with a personal season best. On his second attempt, Aguiar had a throw of 14.02 meters, securing first place. Fortune followed closely with a strong throw of 13.88 meteres on his second attempt, earning him second place.
In the Men's Long Jump,
Nile Love (Wheatley Heights, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) also had a standout performance, continuing his trend of personal improvement. Love set a personal best of 7.24 meters, a mark that earned him second place in a highly competitive field. This jump was a significant achievement for Love, further solidifying his status as a top contender in the event as the season progresses.
Gabrielle Teel (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) also delivered a strong performance in the Women's Triple Jump. Teel started the event with a solid opening mark of 11.53 meters, which set the tone for the remainder of the competition. She continued to improve on each jump and her fifth attempt, she soared to a final mark of 11.94 meters, securing third place in the event.
