WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The NEC has announced its Men's Soccer Weekly Award Winners, with Lukian Lawro (Albertson, N.Y./Mineola) taking home Player of the Week, and Guilherme Meira (Alfredo Chaves, Brazil/Clotilde Rato) winning Rookie of the Week. Archie Watts (Bristol, England/SGS College) was also named a Prime Performer.
Lawro went viral after an incredible bicycle-kick goal in a 1-0 win over Providence College on Aug. 25. The goal was the top play on SportsCenter and garnered well over one million views across all social media platforms within one week.
Meira scored New Haven's only goal in a 1-1 draw with the Big Green of Dartmouth College. It was the freshman's first-career goal.
Watts, a Prime Performer, made six saves in the match against Providence, en route to his first clean sheet of the season.
