JAMESVILLE, N.Y. – Senior
Mary Kate Barton (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) and freshman
Alli Kenealy (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) led the Chargers' pack by placing 17th and 20th overall, respectively, on Sunday to earn Third Team All-Northeast-10 honors at the NE10 Championships in Jamesville, N.Y. As a team, New Haven finished eighth overall, accumulating 181 points, which tied them with seventh place Southern Connecticut. Stonehill (36), Southern New Hampshire (74) and Saint Anselm (134) rounded out the top three.
Barton completed the six-kilometer race in 25:14.3, placing her 17th overall out of 135 to earn the first all-conference honor of her career. Kenealy followed close behind in 20th place with her time of 25:19.6 to also earn Third Team honors, which is awarded to those finishing in places 15-21. Senior
Madeline Morrisson (Kent, Wash./Kentlake) finished 30th overall in 25:32.4, followed by sophomore
Nicolette Maselli (Milltown, N.J./Spotswood) (54th/26:37.3) and sophomore
Jaclyn Schultz (Blackwood, N.J./Paul VI) (75th/27:40.3) to round out the team's top five.
Da-Xia Li Colon (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) (27:59.7) and
Hannah Swain (Nashua, N.H./Nashua South) (28:52.7) completed the field of seven runners for New Haven.
The Chargers will next compete in two weeks at the NCAA Division II East Region Championships on November 9 in Philadelphia.
