NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In their tune up before next weekend's conference championships, the New Haven men' track and field team sent runners to three different meets on Friday and Saturday. The Chargers opened the weekend by taking second place at the William Sutherland Invitational at SCSU on Friday evening, which featured an individual win from Lucas LaBar (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive) in the 800 and a pair of second place performances from Brett Deri (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and Jonathan Cineus (Stratford, Conn./Bunnell). On Saturday at Giegengack, Kevin Leach-Brown (Bronx, N.Y./Mount St. Michael Academy) took home the gold in the 400m and Jackson Marescot (Spring Valley, N.Y./Ramapo) won the triple jump, while Cineus added to his weekend with another runner-up showing in the triple jump.

In addition to those two meets, senior Michael Reddy (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) competed in the 800 meter run at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Saturday, where he placed 43rd with a personal-record time of 1:53.22, placing him in the top five in the NE10 this season.

As a team, New Haven finished second out of four teams on Friday at the Sutherland Invitational, while Saturday's Giegengack Invite was unscored.
