FULL RESULTS
MANCHESTER, Conn. – A pair of top-10 finishes from Alli Kenealy (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) and Isabella Bostic (Saint Johnsbury, Vt./Saint Johnsbury Academy) led the New Haven women's cross country team to a third place overall finish, among seven teams, at the Trinity Bantam Invitational held at Wickham park.
Kenealy, a junior from Shelton, Conn., led all 13 of the Chargers competing at the second event of the year, finishing sixth overall among a field of 73 runners. Her time of 21:31.80 closed out the day just 19 seconds off of race leader Miranda Graves from Wesleyan. Bostic finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 21:37.60, finishing eighth overall in just the second race of her collegiate career.
The remaining three scorers for New Haven all finished in the top-30 overall with Nicolette Maselli (Avon-by-the-Sea, N.J./Spotswood) and Hannah Swain (Nashua, N.H./Nashua South) coming in third and fourth overall for the Blue and Gold. Maselli closed out the event in 24th place overall with a time of 22:35.40, while Swain was under two seconds behind her with a time of 22:37.10 to finish 26th overall. Rounding out the Chargers top-five was Elizabeth O'Donnell (East Northport, N.Y./Commack) who finished with 30th place with a time of 22:57.30.
The Chargers will take next weekend off before returning to action at the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State University. The annual meet hosted by the Blue Devils will take place at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn. on Saturday, September 25.
