Bostic Leads Chargers in Final Race in Fall Cross Country Season

BETHPAGE, N.Y. –
Sophomore Isabella Bostic returned to the top spot for the Chargers as she paced the New Haven women's cross country team to a 14th place finish among a field of 19 teams at the NCAA Division II East Region Championship hosted by Adelphi University at Bethpage State Park. The East Region Championship completes the Chargers fall 2022 schedule.

Bostic finished the 6k course in a time of 24:02.30 to close out the race 47th overall and 41st in the scoring among a field of 144 total runners. Senior Alli Kenealy followed Bostic in the number two position for the Chargers as she finished the course less than 30 seconds behind Bostic with a final time of 24:28.7 to finished 59th overall and 52nd in the scoring.

Senior Da-Xia Colon saw her best finish of the fall season come at the regional championship as she finished third for New Haven with a time of 25:26.2 leading her to an 84th place finish in the full field and a 76th place finish among the scoring runners.

Following Colon was freshman Rina Stanghellini who capped off her rookie season with a 91st place finish in her first NCAA Regional Championship, finishing the course in a time of 25:50.0. Rounding out New Haven's scoring five was freshman Elsie Kaas who finished the race with a time of 26:32.5 to finishe 102nd overall and 91st in the scoring.
