FULL RESULTS

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The New Haven women's cross country team closed out its third event of the season finishing 20th overall among a field of 25 teams at the James Early Championship hosted by Westfield State University.

Leading the Chargers on the 6k course was sophomore Elsie Kaas (Elverson, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) who closed out the event among the top-50 overall with a time of 24:51.6 which ranked 45th overall among the field of 184 runners. Kaas closed out the course with a 6:40 average per mile.

The next two across the line for the Chargers came just over 30 seconds apart with sophomore Jennifer Torres leading the duo in 129th place and freshman Bernadette Karpel (New Haven, Conn./Hillhouse) following in 134th place overall. Torres posted a time of 28:26.1 with Karpel coming in at 29:08.9.

Following Karpel for the Blue and Gold was sophomore Gabriella Abruzzo (North Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) who finished 159th overall with her time of 32:10.5, while rookie Audri Pettirossi () rounded out the scoring five for New Haven with her time of 36:38.4 coming in 173rd overall.

The Chargers will have less than a week to prepare for their next meet with the Bruce Firsch Invitational hosted by Franklin Pierce next on the docket. The event, which take place at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds will take place on Friday, October 13.
