FULL RESULTS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the first time of the 2024-25 season, the University of New Haven Men's Track and Field team competed, making the short drive to Yale University, where they competed at the Yale Season Opener.
Leaving off where he left off from last season, Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) led the Chargers to a victory in the 60m Hurdles as the blue and gold swept the event. Dely led the trio of Chargers running a 8.08 ahead of teammate Jordan Emilie who ran a personal record, 8.16 in second place, and Amir Phelmetto (/) who finished third ran a personal record, 8.30.
Dely added a third place finish off the afternoon in the 400m running a 50.23.
Daniel Barberio (Leland, N.C./Holy Trinity Diocesan) finished second overall in the 800m, running a 1:59.46.
Joshua Udeh (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) finished third overall in the high jump where he cleared 1.83m on his first attempt at that height.
Nile Love (Wheatley Heights, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) finished second overall in the long jump where he jumped 7.10m on his fifth jump of the event to move him up the leader board. Love continued the strong afternoon in the sandpit finishing third overall in the triple jump landing a mark of 14.15m on his fifth jump as well.
With the season underway and the Chargers already hitting provisional marks, New Haven will look to keep the momentum going as they return to the track next week at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge on December 13, and 14.
