MANSFIELD, Mass. – Two University of New Haven Track and Field student-athletes have been selected by the NCAA to compete in the Indoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held from March 13-15 in Indianapolis.
Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) and Jada Kamtha (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls) will represent the Chargers at the championships. This marks the first time since 2014 that both a male and a female athlete from the Chargers have qualified in the same year.
Dely has had an impressive season, breaking his 60m hurdles record with a time of 7.95 seconds at the Harvard Invitational, which currently ranks him 9th in the country. He will compete in the 60m hurdles at the championships.
Kamtha will represent the Chargers in the Long Jump, where her season-best mark stands at 5.97 meters. She also recently set a new personal best, shattering her own record at the FastTrack Last Chance meet last weekend with a time of 8.56 seconds. She is currently ranked 20th in the country in the event.
