AMHERST, MASS – The University of New Haven Chargers traveled to the suburbs of Boston over the weekend to take part in the New England Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Chargers saw 13 athletes, including two relays, named All New England.
On the women's side, after placing fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, Jada Kamtha (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls) earned All New England recognition. D'Jior Delisser (/) took home the All New England honors after placing fifth in long jump. Gabrielle Teel (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) also was All New England after her fifth place finish in triple jump. The women's 4x100 relay, made up of Delisser, Kamtha, Deja Harris, and Lakay-Sha Clarke (/) also earned All New England recognition after placing fourth.
On the men's side, Joshua Stewart (Madison, Conn./Hand) opened the day with an All New England nod in the 100-meter sprint after taking home seventh. Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) built on his legendary resumé with a second place finish in the 110-meter hurdles. Jordan Emile (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) placed fourth. Amir Phelmetto (/) rounded out the All New England group in that event with a ninth place finish, earning himself All New England status, along with Dely and Emile. Daniel Barberio (Leland, N.C./Holy Trinity Diocesan), Jaden Sampson (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream South), Elijah Espinal (Hamden, Conn./Hamden), and Noah Hurd (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip Regional) earned the ninth and final spot, good for an All New England nod.
