MANSFIELD, MASS – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its end-of-year awards for the outdoor season on Tuesday afternoon. New Haven's
Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) took home Male Track Athlete of the Year, Gabby Teel earned Female Field Athlete of the Year,
Miana Quinonez (/) was named Co-Rookie of the Year, and
Shaunnaya Williams earned Coach of the Year.
Dely broke numerous records this season en route to an appearance at the NCAA Championships this weekend in Colorado. At the NE10 Championships, Dely finished second in 110 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles, and triple jump, while anchoring a 4x100 meter relay that came first in the conference. Dely was also named an All-New England and an All-East Region athlete.
Teel also earned All-New England and All-East Region status in triple jump after placing first in the conference at the championship meet on May 2. Teel will be competing in triple jump at the NCAA Championships this weekend.
In her first year in college athletics, Quinonez brought home Co-Rookie of the Year, splitting the award with Lori Melville from Adelphi University. The freshman placed third in the conference in high jump at the conference championships while also earning NE10 Rookie of the Week honors on Apr. 29.
Shaunnaya Williams guided the Chargers to their success throughout the year and has been rewarded with Coach of the Year honors.
