HOOKSETT, NH – The University of New Haven Chargers took part in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships over the weekend on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University. In both the men's and women's division, the Chargers placed second overall.
MEN:
Mohammed Abunar (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) took second place in the men's 10,000 meter run, kicking off the day with a strong start for the Chargers.
Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) and
Jordan Emile (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) took second and third in the men's 110 meter hurdles. Dely also slotted in second in the 400 meter hurdles.

Joshua Stewart (Madison, Conn./Hand),
Nile Colson (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas Institute), and Dely took first place in the men's 4x100 meter relay.
In the field events, Emile placed second in high jump while
Nile Love (Wheatley Heights, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) took first in long jump. The Chargers swept the triple jump as
Matthew Steele (North Kingstown, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) (first), Dely (second), and Love (third) all placed in the event.
The men took home second in the conference.
WOMEN:
Jada Kamtha (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls) began the day with a second-place finish in the 100 meter dash. She followed that up with a first-place win in 100 meter hurdles.
Deja Harris was the runner up in the 400 meter hurdles. Harris, Kamtha,
D'Jior Delisser (/), and Lakay-Sha Clark combined to finish second in the 4x100 meter relay.
In the field, Delisser won the women's high jump top spot. Freshman
Miana Quinonez (/) took home third in that event. Delisser also slotted in second place in long jump.
Gabrielle Teel (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) and
Aniya Bush (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) place first and third in triple jump, respectively. Anite Hodge finished first in the discus throw, leading the Chargers to a second place finish in the conference.
