The head coach of the New Haven football team for two seasons, Chris Palmer went 16-4 for the Chargers prior to his successful career in the National Football League spanning three decades.

After serving under Bill Parcells for the New England Patriots during their run to Super Bowl XXXI, Palmer later won Super Bowl XLII as quarterbacks coach for the New York Giants. He also spent two seasons as the first head coach of the “reinstated” Cleveland Browns from 1999-2000 and logged additional NFL experience with the Houston Oilers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans and San Franciso 49ers.

Palmer also returned to Connecticut as head coach and general manager of the United Football League’s Hartford Colonials in 2010.
