The original ace of the New Haven pitching staff, Tony Franco got the start on the hill in 33 of the Chargers’ 93 wins during his four-year career.

Franco was 33-9 with a career 1.91 earned run average and, as of January 2015, he ranks second all-time in wins and seventh in both strikeouts and ERA in the program record books.

The right-hander’s best statistical season was his junior campaign in which he went 14-2 with a 1.16 ERA (fourth) and 92 strikeouts in 109 innings. Franco led the Chargers’ to the NAIA postseason in each of his four seasons on the diamond in West Haven.
