A four-year starting middle infielder who closed out his career as the all-time leader in hits with 250, Evan Okon is the 53rd baseball player to be inducted in the New Haven Athletics Hall of Fame. Throughout his career, Okon helped lead the Chargers to an impressive 109 wins, including winning the East Coast Conference Championship in his rookie season when he led the team with a .368 batting average, scattering 70 hits and earning All-Conference Second Team honors. Okon would go on to earn All-Conference honors in his junior and senior seasons, while leading the Chargers to the conference championship all four years and an NCAA Division II Championships appearance in 2006. In addition to owning the all-time record in career hits, Okon also holds the school record for doubles with 54, games started with 181 and at bats with 740. He closed out his extraordinary career with a .338 batting average and 118 runs batted in.
