Gary Zavatkay rates as one of the best power and run-producing hitters in UNH baseball history. To date, he ranks eighth in career RBIs (126) and just recently fell out of the top-10 for all-time home runs where he finished with 19.

He batted over .300 in three of his four seasons, including a career high .367 as a freshman. With a great eye for the strike zone, he walked 75 times, the fifth highest total in UNH history. At the time of his graduation, he also ranked prominanetly with his 42 RBI in 1982 and 145 career hits. 

Zavatkay was named All-Region and All-New England Collegiate Conference in 1983. After graduation, Zavatkay went on to a successful career as women’s basketball official at the collegiate level.
