One of 14 players in program history to surpass 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in her career, Niketa Harris is the 18th women’s basketball player to be inducted into the New Haven Athletics Hall of Fame and the first since 2014. With 1,673 points over the four-year career, Niketa remains the third best scorer in school history with an average fo15.8 points per game. Additionally, she is 10th all-time with 785 rebounds. Harris led the Chargers in scoring as a junior and senior, with her 534 points as a senior the eighth most in a single season in program history. Niketa can also be found in the Charger annals among the best in free throws with 409, 2nd most at New Haven, and in career field goals where she is fifth all-time with 632. During her tenure, the Chargers racked up 56 wins and advanced to the New England Collegiate Conference Championship twice.
