Emmert, a native of Manchester, NH, also was a mainstay in the trenches for the Chargers, as he started in all four years of his collegiate career. Over his four years, the Blue and Gold posted a 30-13 record. Emmert racked up awards for his play, beginning in 1990 with NEFW Second Team honors. From there, he moved up to the First Team in 1991 and 1992. Emmert was also named a Kodak All-American and AP Small College Team in 1992 and All-ECAC in 1992. Emmert and the Chargers earned the program's first NCAA playoff berth in 1992 where they defeated West Chester and Ferris State in the first two playoff games in New Haven history.
