Wynschenk taught a myriad of subjects during his tenure and served on many faculty committees which helped bridge the gap between the North and Main campuses. His intramural programs encouraged students to come to the North Campus even though they were not directly involved with intercollegiate athletics.

Wynschenk acted as a consultant for the design of the North Campus Athletic Complex. He stressed the totality of being a student-athlete, emphasizing the importance of academic success as well as athletic achievement.

Wynschenk received the respect and admiration of faculty, staff and students throughout his career which has earned him a special place in New Haven’s athletic history.
